I have been a graphic designer for over 24 years and an “amateur” photographer off and on since high school (graduated in ’72) when I took my parents Kodak “Brownie” camera on a school field trip on a boat tour of the Houston Ship Channel.

I usually get re-interested in photography when I get to go on vacation to the mountains or desert or someplace scenic. However, the last few years, especially since I moved to digital photography, I have been really trying to learn the craft and hone my skills and to understand how the camera and light works and how to compose a picture to make it interesting and to draw you into the photo. I have been taking pictures just about every chance I get, doing the usual nature and landscape photography but also doing product photography for companies, some portrait work, and even trying my hand at a little macro photography.

I got started doing video editing when I was asked by a friend to videotape a Mother’s Day Out program and a Vacation Bible School program for the children’s parents. One thing led to another and here I am!

One important thing to know about me—I started out my career 36 years ago as a Quality Control Inspector making sure the products for which I was responsible met the highest levels of quality and performance. I did that for over a decade. That mind set has remained with me all these years. I always try to perform my jobs or tasks to the very best I can and once that level is reached, I try to see what I can do better. Previous employers have told me that I spend too much time taking that extra step when it was already “good enough.” That’s what I will do for each and every one of my customers. You may get your job back and see that I did something extra for you and didn’t charge for it. Or, you might get you job back and it looks just like you expected, but be assured, I probably did something extra, that I didn’t have to do, to make it look just a little bit better than it would have if I had stopped when it was already “good enough.”
